If you want to know why the song is "the last gasp of '77 XTC," or what Andy misses about playing live, check out the XTCfans blog site at http://blog.myspace.com/xtcfans. But there's only one real XTC-related question in there, so...) Figured it couldn't hurt -- it might be interesting to Chalkhillians, or maybe not! Matt Rev. Beating of Hearts is my favorite XTC video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dXQBVvBtO8 Senses Working Overtime from Look Look is a good representation of the band at peak form but I couldn't find that one on Youtube Are You Receiving Me? is entertaining and early http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RApvaQ0uGTw This Is Pop is classic as their first video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLSkC4N1BIc I love the references: the clips of the band playing are set like Led Zeppelin's first video (of course: punkified) the sliced meat singles reference the Beatles butcher moment and there are the beans of the Who ...and what better in the theme of consumerism and product: Mickey Mouse! Yay! I love it. These really need to be released blu-ray with full compressionless sound so we can turn them up loud. I asked a young person to tranfer my PALS version of LookLook recently so I could watch it on my home VCR (not PALS) and when he gave the video back to me he said, "those guys are badass." Thanks for suggesting we share, great idea!

Message-ID: <495209.22486.qm@web55604.mail.re4.yahoo.com> hello yet again ... just received the vol. 15 / no. 13 issue of chalkhills over the net here (thanks j.r.) and was simply wondering about something ... why haven't the postings that i've been sending to chalkhills since i re-subscribed been included in any of the recent editions being forwarded to me and others?? i know for a fact that i've received at least 3 issues since i willingly returned to the fold, and so far i haven't seen anything of mine that was submitted. (mr. relph, if you please ...?) i just wanted everyone who's still here to know that a longtime xtc fan from north carolina continues to be obsessed with these swindonians' talent (r.i.p.) and am also very interested in connecting with a community of other xtc fans. ... just my two-cents' worth, mind you. so, in the (closing) words of one mr. partridge then, thanks for the eyetime. /danny -- "To see a world in a grain of sand and a Heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour." ~ William Blake
