Message-ID: <986EDA8A-305C-44C9-BA08-0173E4B01337@earthlink.net> Activity has obviously slowed down to a crawl in these newsletters. Let's hope that the tomorrow's to come will give us some new and wondrous reasons to obsess on all things Partridge, Moulding and the extended family. Since all eyes that scan the various verbal meanderings here share a certain musical perspective, let me just throw out a suggestion, if I may... The Vancouver group Mother Mother has an amazingly varied and satisfying CD out since last fall called 'O My Heart.' Its hooks and harmonies have grabbed on tightly and the enjoyment refuses to diminish with repeated plays. I don't think you'll be disappointed. "i believe those rumors started when i was in attendance at the 'rent a musician day' benefit held recently in the bay area. the dress was casual-formal (you know: tuxes and converse) and someone brought their pet chicken in full 'kiss' decor. i bent over to pet its little scary head, and lo! a flash from a nearby reporter, some quick alteration in 'photoshop' and voila! -- you can imagine the results." I don't buy it, but it would explain why the makeup was Peter Criss's design. A chicken would be too stupid to know the difference. That "nearby reporter" was just pretending to be a newsman. Becki must not know that real journalists don't wear "PRESS" cards in the bands of their fedoras. I think it was Mitch Friedman. I mean, have you checked out the Fangorn Forest of game show host hair he's sporting on the cover of his new album? PhotoShop, baby. Becki, thank you for the good cheer, and for the invention of a beer-for-tunes barter system that will keep us buzzed and grooving after our Yankee greenbacks get inflated into so many Weimar Deutschmarks. I'm all for it. For a barrel of Anchor Steam, will you perform a 25-minute version of "Susan Revolving" with a taiko drum solo? If I can (preferably figuratively) dig up a woman to accompany me so I don't look like a stalker or Stage Door Andy,* I will catch one of your concerts -- and whaal Ah maaht nawt be wun o' them Bay Ahrea so-fiss-ti-kits, Ah DO unnerstan' "Free Bird" is NAWT in yore reper-twar, so Ah will nawt holler fer it. Message-ID: <7.0.1.0.2.20090514201143.0239c628@obsessed-with-music.com> Hi, fellow fans. I haven't posted here in quite a while and, John, if this is not appropriate then delete it and tell me so. Otherwise I'm asking you all your opinion. On my personal blog, I started a tradition about 15 weeks ago where every Tuesday I post an item with a link to a YouTube music video. I cleverly call it Terrific Tunes For Tuesday. Well, every week for the past 15 I've wanted to use an XTC video, naturally. I've watched various XTC videos on YouTube but I want a video that will be cool for me and other huge fans, and will also possibly draw in casual fans and maybe even people who have never heard of XTC. I wrestled with, should I use an early, new wavey, one, or a later popish one, or a live one, but if so then what? It nearly drove me nuts. In fact, it may have. So, if anyone wants to give me their opinion, please post your video selection link on here and if possible why it would be perfect for people in all those categories I mentioned above. Oh, and (important) it has to be on YouTube and has to allow embedding. If you want to check out my other Terrific Tunes For Tuesday or the rest of my blog, www.stevenology.com, drop by and visit and even leave a comment or three if you want. Thanks in advance for that! What YouTube video is the right one? Anyone? Steven www.stevenology.com
