Lyrics

This street has changed so much
A line of fortresses, look but don't touch
I'd like to call on my neighbours one day
But their Doberman won't look the other way

There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?

In my street I don't know a soul
The walls and fences never have no holes
If I could only be your Peeping Tom
You could complain about my bonfire burning strong

There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?
Nod my head and say hello
Where did the ordinary people go?

Money changes everyone
Or so it seems
There's no community spirit anywhere
You may say I'm green

In my street we go by car
The tinted windows never show who you are
If I could see you, I'd complain about the noise
I glance across the fence we both might enjoy

There's one thing I'd like to know
Where did the ordinary people go?
Nod my head and say hello
Where did the ordinary people go?

Where did they go?
Those ordinary people?
Where did they go?
The ordinary people
The ordinary people
The ordinary people

Hello Chalkhills,

This is my attempt at Where Did The Ordinary People Go?! I'll be honest,
I'm not 100% sure on it, I think the F#m in the bridge could be F#m7 and I
can't figure out the very last bit of the outro. This should be good for
anyone, like me, who just wants to play along to the song though. I hope
you don't mind, I nicked the transcribed lyrics and set the chords to them
to make it easier for everyone. They don't match up perfectly, but it
shouldn't take much to catch on. Thank you Colin Moulding for writing a
brilliant song! I hope you can download the attachment, it's just a txt.
file. Cheers!

Best Regards,
Robert Harrison Jr.
