Lyrics

Notes

A tea cozy is a fitted sometimes knitted covering for a teapot (not the kettle), to keep it warm.

It frightens me when you come to mind
The day you dropped in the shopping line
And my heart beats faster when I think of all the signs
When they carried you out your mouth was open wide
The cat went astray and the dog did pine for days and days
And we felt so guilty when we played you up
When you were ill, so ill
What sticks in my mind is the sweet jar
On the sideboard. And your multicolored tea cosy
What sticks in my mind is the dew-drop hanging off your nose
Shrivelled up and blue
And I'm getting older, too
But I don't want to die like you
Don't want to die like you

Dear John,

There are a couple of notes left out of the transcription for Verse 1.
On your site it looks like this:

*Am9
5*x*x*0*0*7

G(add9)
3*x*x*0*0*5

G/F#
2*x*x*0*0*3

Fmaj9(b5)
1*x*x*0*0*0*

Theres also a line being played on the D-String, so that all together it
should look like this:

*Am9
5*x*5*4*0*7

G(add9)
3*x*4*0*0*5

G/F#
2*x*2*0*0*3

Fmaj9(b5)
1*x*2*0*0*0*

The E and D strings are strumed together, followed by the other three.

All the best and keep up the good work,
Micah
