Sorry in advance for the lack of XTC content ... I first heard about
The Sugarplastic here on Chalkhills many years ago and sadly didn't
take the advice to give them a listen the first time round. Listen I did
eventually though, and over time acquired their entire catalog and loved
every minute. I then eagerly awaited a next release that never came :-(

Well, some good news at last - Sugarplastic lead singer and songwriter
Ben Eshbach
has teamed up with fellow Angelean Matthew Kelly to release an album as the
Soviet League. It does not disappoint.

Cheers,

Steve

I've heard a crazy rumour that somebody from xTc (but not Andy) is
married to one of Roy Lichtenstein's wives. I assume that'd be Roy's
first wife, Isabel, who were divorced in 1965.

Anybody know of this?

Hello Chalkolatiers,

This, from the latest Mike Keneally newsletter (The Keneallist), may
be of some interest here. There is now a title!

"I've been away from working with Mike Harris at Chatfield Manor on
the next Keneally solo opus), but on Sep. 12 I'll be back there for
two weeks, continuing to forge ahead on Wing Beat Fantastic - Songs by
Mike Keneally and Andy Partridge..."

Can't be a bad thing,

Dear John et all,

I found this little gem on YouTube. The quality isn't great,
unfortunately, but it does document the preparations for the concert
at the PAlace where Andy had his first 'attack'. Strangely, in the
French narration they say it was an attack of hepatitus!

You see the sound check, and part of a great versio of 'melt the guns'
and some of 'Sense Working Overtime', thena n interview with Andy
inthe Guardian's loge... He really seems together, calm, and I mut
say, mix-wise, it is one of the best sonds I've heard fromt he boys
live...

If there's enough interest, I would be glad to translate the Frnech
that's not translated (later there are Frnech subtitles which are
pretty much illegible. Poor froggy-fans!)

Enjoy!
