I met Charlotte a few years ago when she was still part of Ash - I *so*
rock'n'roll! ;-) -   and she cites XTC as a major influence. I also went to
see her play an acoustic set this summer in London, which was pretty damn
good. I heartily second this recommendation!

So what's happened to her previous band Ash? Have they broken up?
Haven't heard hide nor hair from them since Free All Angels, which
turned me onto them, what I liked about Charlotte was she was a
member of the band and not showcased as the babe up front singing
pretty. She looked like regular folks who just happened to be a girl.
Didn't hurt that the rest of the guys in the band, especially the
lead singer, had faces that looked like they'd been turned inside out.

I don't make a habit of this but there is a true XTC  rarity on Ebay right
now at.

I'd asked Dave for some quick equipment details to supplement the
interview I did with Andy on http://blog.myspace.com/xtcfans about
"Towers of London," and boy did he ever come through. Check it out if
you want to *really* know who played what, and when they played it.

Once again, except this year vaguely on time, I've
produced and am about to mail a Christmas "card"
that's more like a newsletter. No mentions of XTC this
time -- that was easier to do when I was ranting about
the upcoming 50th anniversary of rock and roll three
years ago -- but I'd be happy to send a copy to any
Chalkfellow or Chalkdamsel who asks.

Please send me your real-world, trees-had-to-die,
mailing address off-list. It doesn't have to be your
own; it could be your lawyer's/solicitor's office
address if you've had troubles with stalkers or
identity thieves.
