It's actually a double, not a triple, and I'd also note the only difference between the limited and the unlimited edition is the artwork-- the former comes in a Mini-LP, the latter in a jewel case. Speaking of the Barry Andrews-Robert Fripp connection, I keep hoping the League of Gentlemen (Fripp's new wave/punk band from around 1980) recordings make the remastered circuit-- Fripp did a magnificent job with the King Crimson catalog and "Exposure". Also on this front, of interest to collectors will no doubt be the League of Gentlemen live show Fripp has made available for purchased download on his website: http://www.dgmlive.com/archive.htm?artist=18&show=1028 Also while talking Fripp/XTC, Pat Mastellotto, drummer for "Oranges & Lemons", has been a member of King Crimson since their return to action in the mid-90s, after serving as tour drummer for Fripp collaboration with David Sylvian. Curiously enough, obsessed though I am with Crimson, I never felt a real urge to check out XTC until I saw "Wonderfalls"... mike

I was just listening to this reissue a few nights ago (Robert Fripp's Exposure, for those not following the thread closely), and LOVE it. I guess I'd never paid as close attention to the liner notes when spinning the vinyl many years past, but the observations that sink in to me now are: * Narada Michael Walden is a helluva drummer - my favorite songs on the album are the ones where he's pounding in bewildering syncopation - and I'm a bit surprised that he'd so completely escaped my notice before. * Love love love Peter Hammill - one of my favorite voices around - and need to get more of *his* re-masters/re-issues of his own solo and Van der Graaf Generator releases. * I think it's the version of Disengage with Hammill and Walden that shreds me up the most - intense. * Sorry, can't recall much specific about Barry Andrews' contributions > I just hope I can still > find the limited edition three-disk version!! Fuckity - I can't find any reference to a 3CD version - are you sure about this? The official site for all things Fripp and Crimson doesn't mention it: https://www.dgmlive.com/shop/ shows the 2CD version as the "limited edition" one, and still available for 20 US bucks. Some confusion may arise from Fripp's demarcating the tracks as Vols 1-3, comprising two separate masters of the entire album as the first two, plus the third volume containing the previously-unissued Daryl Hall-vocals versions of some of the songs. You can construct the three different putative commercial releases of the album from the material present, but as far as I can tell, there's nothing left to put on a third physical CD. da9ve

I'll rush out to buy them... not. Here's my 2006 contribution that you can also rush out and not buy: Stanton Moore - III Les Claypool - Of Whales and Woe ...both of these CD's feature Skerik (insane saxaphone - electric guitar leads just may be passe) Beatles - Love ...if only for the remastered I Am The Walrus (most of it is quite irritating - all that d*cking around - turn it off) Andy Partridge - Collector's Album ...well, maybe you should buy this one as you do read Chalkhills. > From: KEVIN.WOLLENWEBER@jpmorgan.com > Subject: XTC Link to Fripp > > But, speaking of which, on the reissue front, I found news of an > expanded edition of a favorite late '70's album [Exposure] that > features, according to this review from amazon.com, one of XTC's > ex-members. Thanks also for sharing. Exposure is one of my long time favorites. I didn't know it was remastered with extra goodies either. BTW, isn't League of Gentlemen an even more direct XTC link to Fripp? The improvised piece was recently recorded live at Swindon's Headroom Studios. Monstrance is undergoing the packaging process now, and will be available in early April from -- where else? -- the APE house. Thanks for all the kind words from everyone about the MySpace interviews. They're fun to do, of course, as Dom has noted, mentioning: > the unshakable mental image of his sweaty, euphoric face and gently > hardening pelvic region during these phone conversations... It's like he's there in the room with me. Scary. Thanks, too, to Kevin Wollenweber for posting the info about the re-issue of "Exposure." I love love love that album, so I'm going to have to pick that one up. Just one more instance of Mr. Fripp forcing me to buy his damn catalog yet again. Along with the latest Cannibal Corpse album, of course... -Todd I would rather try to persuade a man to go along, because once I have persuaded him he will stick. If I scare him, he will stay just as long as he is scared, and then he is gone. -Dwight D. Eisenhower, U.S. general and 34th president (1890-1969)

Beautifully observed humanity. I want that song to be featured! Will update the myspace site with other songs shortly. Cheers, Gary.
