Yeah, the question of the Musical has come up a few times. Andy's
answered questions on it and related questions before.

At least once at the Forum

"Q - Any plans of pulling a Billy Joel and compiling a musical from
XTC songs (a la Moving Out)? Long Lacolith

A - Well ye who Lac, I've never wanted to do this myself, smacks a
little of cheese to me. Of course if someone else wants to do it,
string them together with a story line etc., I'd have no huge
objection. I don't think any professional big money venture would
work as we just aren't popular enough, but it might make a fun
pastime for some inventive soul (for a giggle). A.P"

I think I've read/ heard other interviews where he said he's not
interested but that he has been getting some weird ideas about writing
an Opera... despite the fact that doesn't like Opera. Can't remember a
specific reference to link to... I think maybe it came up once during
the song discussions at the Myspace blog

Huh? That don't make no sense to me, even though I respect the band's
decision not to tour. I think seeing Andy, Colin, and Dave perform
Summer's Cauldron and Grass live would keep those songs fresher than
leaving them alone. If the concert sent me running back to
Skylarking, THEN the songs might sound fresh to this listener.

Hi:

Over at the XTCfans MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/xtcfans), the
song of the week is "Meccanik Dancing."

If you want to know about Andy's "three-album plan," or which
traditional song the vocal melody is based on, check out the XTCfans
blog site at http://blog.myspace.com/xtcfans.

I've had a few beers inside me
I feel like a giant tonight

the ultimate XTC poll is waiting for you at www.rankapple.com

search under XTC and you'll see a listing of all official XTC albums.

first the easy bit - rank the albums , favourite to least favourite.

then get your thinking caps on and rank each track on each album the
same way.

if everyone votes, we can finally settle those burning questions - is
Skylarking their best album ? is Chalkhills and Children the best song
they ever released ?

over to you lot.....

Currently at a publishing event (extremely dull, incidentally) in
Linz, Austria. 10pm in a very pleasant old bar discovering the joys of
Austrian wine (they don't put Anti-Freeze in it any more - it's safe,
people), listening to radio station: "Oooh baby, don't you know what
that's worth.......(return to conversation)....ooohh heaven is a place
on Earth" (DJ chatter including words BELL-ENDER CAARLIZEL). Then:

Frivolous Tonight - all of it "By EKS-TEE-SEEEEEEEEE!"

What?

Has the world gone mad?

Oh.
