Chalkies,

I have it from the mouth of Robyn Hitchcock himself that he'll be seeeing
Andy soon and that their songs will see the (element of) light of day in
some form. he seemed to quite like them, though failed to play any in his
set here in Paris (minus the 'minus five' REM-ers et al).

He is also in proud(?) possession of one of our our own Jamie Lowes' XTC
Stickers, although he did seem a bit perplexed (island?) in asking me if
Jamie wanted him to give it to Andy... Apparently Jamie tried to give it to
him in the States after a concert but noted theif Peter Buck stole it for
himself... For details contact Mr Lowe...

Given that Erica's a (rather attractive) brunette -- and a girl! --
I'd say it's more likely a tribute to her (behind every great man,
etc.)

Nice try, though!

Peter Fitzpatrick> There's a CD single out this week ! I think you'll
like it. A lot.

Just purchased and downloaded the high-quality (320Kb/s) Pugwash tracks
($3.95 USD) and they sound great! There's also a 192Kb/s version for
under $3. I hope it makes the Irish charts.

Thanks for the tip, Peter.

Hi:

Over at the XTCfans MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/xtcfans), the
song of the week is "Senses Working Overtime.

If you want to know what '60s single inspired the chorus, as well as
why Colin was singing about Lady Di, check out the XTCfans blog site
(http://blog.myspace.com/xtcfans).

It's Snowing Angels !

What has become known as the "Dave Gregory 2006 Side Project" <in-joke> has
reached the Top20 on the mid-week chart returns.

Who'd have thunk it ?

With a few more sales of the single it should be possible to get Top10 by
Thursday night.

Any single in the Top10 the week before Christmas has a cracking chance at
hitting number one.

So... if you haven't already... you know what to do!

Remember online sales count toward the chart regardless of your location and
all monies raised to toward the Brainwave charity http://www.epilepsy.ie

Those of you who are musicians have described the
queer feeling, something akin to a blend of celestial
delight and infernal envy, you feel when you listen to
Andy Partridge's music.

Those of us whose axe is the Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph
instead of the guitar can now feel the same way,
because damned if the Great Ape isn't also a
remarkably able cartoonist.

Okay, we've known that since "How To Draw XTC," if not
before, but his latest is really impressive. He has
buried references to 32 XTC/Dukes/Dub Experiment/Three
Wisemen/Fuzzy Warbles songs in one drawing, and he
promises to give the original to the fan who does the
best job of naming those 32 songs.

Be aware that he might have thrown in one of his
collaborations with Martin Newell or Harold Budd, too,
and be aware also that the songs are not all Andy's
opera -- Colin's "Grass" is one of the 32.

The deadline is December 31, or 31 December, depending
on your chosen slice of the globe.
