You always ask intelligent questions and they're not the obvious ones that every other interviewer has asked Andy! By the way a happy belated birthday to Andy! >J Pinto wrote: > > My local Record Shop has "Warbles" Collector Set for > > $69.95. > > > > I paid $67.45 for the "Box" and the last TWO Warbles > > from Andy's site(now mysteriously "suspended" > > probably because he cut a distribution deal). I got to hear them when they were released before the bulk of the rest of the world so that was cool. It's like when you purchase a new DVD or CD while you might get them on special (at a lesser price) within a couple months to a year they are even less than the reduced price you paid for them. It's called commerce dropping the price to move more units as the CDs sell less. Also putting them together in the boxed set I don't doubt that the price was reduced to make the set more attractive. If they hadn't sold well in the first place Andy would never have been able to put them out in this fashion so the argument would be academic. Also from Todd: The band is very close to reaching a settlement with the label, buck up -- video releases should be on the way in '07... Yes about bloody time that this set was out! >With his Monstrance album of improvised music with early XTC keyboard >player Barry Andrews released in January, MOJO must also ask about >that long-dormant parent band. But >I have been ummm'ing and arr'ing about working with Dave Gregory >again- so I mustn't say 'no' ". Paul thanks for the info I haven't seen the latest issue of Mojo (to be honest I usually skip it at the newsstand before I decide if its a worthwhile issue to buy). All I can say is that if Colin is out of the picture I'm hoping he'll say yes to Andy and Dave working together under the name. While it wouldn't be the same the two collaborating together would be very interesting indeed without Colin in the mix. As much as I've loved the last XTC album I did miss Dave's guitar playing that always complimented Andy's and his backing vocals (and his "presence" on the albums). To all those in the U.S. have a Happy Thanksgiving and to those outside the U.S. a great weekend! Wayne

Message-ID: <20061124164937.40921.qmail@web61321.mail.yahoo.com> Hey folks; I perused the recent interviews with Ansy, in which he describes the comatose state of XTC right now since Colin is not inclined to make music right now. Did it strike anyone else odd that Andy described Colin as disappearing? He said that he does not know where Colin lives anymore, nor does he have a phone number for him. He describes the situation as being kind of weird since Colin is his partner in Idea Records. Wait a minute! Imagine how it must feel to be Andy right now. Your partner drops out of sight. He no longer wants to make music. But didn't they spend a huge amount of time and money building a modern studio in Colin's garage? If Colin has apparently moved, what the heck happened to Idea Studios? Does anybody know? Perhaps Todd can ask Andy next time they speak..... Mike

What I find refreshing is that this time (as opposed to the Macca-centric "1" collection), the focus is on Dr Winston O'Boogie and Hari Georgeson, and even little Richie gets his share. But you simply MUST get the CD/DVD-A version. George and Giles Martin have gone ballistic with the sound quality of the standard CD, but the 5.1 Surround mix on the DVD-A will leave you breathless. Many people may feel like they've had a Fabs overload (interesting that this one has emerged just before Christmas), but in my opinion, this LOVE thing is the ace-est ever. Has anyone seen the Cirque du Soliel (sp?) show in Vegas? What's it like? I bet it's a real spectacle. Hope they put it out on DVD.
