Trains - smoothness, scenic appeal. Flying - exhilarating but frightening.
Why I play my instrument
Because it's an instrument that you don't know really what it does but you'd miss it if you took it away.

Me and food
I like savoury foods more than sweet. I put vinegar on most meals. I dislike cold food (that should be hot). My favourite meat is lamb. I prefer custard to cream. I eat a cooked breakfast on a Sunday. I swamp most things in H.P. sauce.
Where I would like to live and why
In the country - preferably Wiltshire or Gloucestershire - I like the abundance of prehistoric sights. I would also like to live near to my parents because my roots are very important to me.
Ten people I would like to meet and why
Jack Lemmon - my favourite actor. My grandad - to discuss similarities. Patrick Moore - I used to be a keen amateur Astronomer. Alfred Hitchcock - could he really play all those Double Basses he got on trains with in his films? My great grandad - to discuss Victorian England. Ancient ancestors - are we all that different? God - clear up a few loose ends. George Orwell - one of my favourite writers. Anyone who has been to the moon - I am interested in astronomy.

Anything artistic, where I could work for myself.
5 favourite places and why
Berlin - very surrealistic. New York - one big film set. New Orleans - musical beginings. Wiltshire - prehistoric sights. Oxford, Bath and Edinburgh - maintained beauty, culture, young minded people and not a great deal of inner city development.

Petrol. Cheap perfume. New books. Old books. Stew cooking.

Second hand bookshops, Oxfam and Shelter shops etc., record shops and antique shops - I'm a collector.
Favourite time of the year
Late summer, because by then my hay fever has dissapeared, it's still hot so I can start to enjoy what is left of the good weather.

The aeroplane is my most favourite form of transport because it simply get you there quicker.
Why I play the instrument I do
I play the drums because I haven't the patience or talent for any other instrument.

My favourite food
Any spicey foods. I take no sugar and almost never eat sweets or desert of any kind. When I am abroad I miss good old traditional English vegetables, especially sprouts, cabbage swede, etc.

My favourite 'straight' has to be Terry Thomas, the man's just too English to be English.
My house is . . .
I've recently bought my first dwelling (that's how the estate agent described it). It's a small two bedroomed place on the outskirts of my home town of Swindon. I hope to move in sometime in June when all our touring should be finished.
Favourite comedy acts
My favourite comedy acts are too many to mention but basically it's Laurel and Hardy. I love the 'slapstick' stuff and Chaplin was just brilliant. I must say that I prefer film comedies such as Jack Lemmon and Zero Mostel to the T.V. series like Little and Large, Cannon and Ball, etc.
Historical figures I'd like to meet
Jesus Christ - to see if he could heal people like the Bible says. Walt Disney - a classic example of a man who made things work for himself, not bad for someone who was an ambulance driver. Genghis Khan - any man that conquers nearly five million square mils of land has to be worth talking to. Columbus - I've always been interested in discovery and he was probably the best. John Wayne - simple because he was an 'All American Boy'.

Favourite placesNewcastle N.S.W. Australia - because it is where I met my wife. Swindon, Wiltshire - because I was born there. Texas, New Mexico and Arizona - this is where it's real cowboy country and apart from that there are such marvelous deserts. Japan - it's so different from anything else.
My time of year
My favourite time of year is summer. I am a great 'sun lover' and I enjoy the outdoor life, i.e., countryside, animals, nature, etc. It is at this time of the year that you can experience all these things if you are in the right places.
