In April I'll be in the UK for the first time, traveling to Wales with a
friend -- and driving right past Swindon... Any suggestions for a few hours
to get a sense of XTC's home other than just driving around and stopping at
RR Museum? Thanks and send any suggestions to franjerry2134@sbcglobal.net
-- and in proper Chalkhills etiquette I'll submit a summary of your
suggestions. THANKS.

I bought a copy of NONSUCH as a bluray/CD and, wow, is it fantastic! I'm
only sorrier that I don't have a setup to allow me to hear the full 5.1
layer on the bluray disk, because the sound is incredible. It is certainly
a project that begs for a good headset to hear the full effect, but I'd love
to have the kind of setup that allows me to hear the album without something
weighing on my ears.

Being a blind person, though, I cannot find the extra track beyond the one
that is available on the CD as well, but I had to praise the work here on
the new master. I hope this project continues through the entire XTC
catalogue.

One other question, though; I wonder why "Always Winter, Never Christmas"
was left off this collection, even though a single of "Peter Pumpkinhead"
was once released with that track as its B-side. Perhaps that will be a
bonus or extra track once the RAG AND BONE BUFFET remastering is done,
right? I'm sure it is in the running. I know I'll keep my original import
reissues of the XTC catalog because of the rounded package for BIG EXPRESS.
I like those mini-LP sleeves, and I only wish that reissue campaigns would
all include those kinds of packages. I missed the OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE
rounded tin, but I didn't miss the miniature BIG EXPRESS.

Folks,

I have decided to shut down the Chalkhills email list. This is for various
reasons, such as Facebook and Twitter taking over the world and the
administrative overhead of maintaining the email list.

I will not be throwing it all out, but as of today I will not be accepting
any further contributions to the list.

Thank you.
