Hey everybody,

I just visited George R.R. Martin (he who begat Game of Thrones)'s
site and came across this image..

Look what the bearded fellow (that's him!) is wearing: Looks like our
Chalk HOrse!

So I saw Thomas Dolby last night (it was a sublime show), and he was telling
the story of why he decided to build a studio in a converted boat. "I
didn't want to have a studio in a garden shed, like most aging rockers of my
generation," he said, and I yelled out, "ANDY PARTRIDGE!" He laughed and
nodded.

Dear Chalkhills

Dear Chalkhills, with love and thanks,

you have surprizingly little info about Colin and I know why.

I think you should have more on him.

I love his contribution to XTC and I am not the only one. I am very angry
at Andy Partridge for the whole state of affairs.

I mean this in a much more animated way than my words convey. But I will
not be rude.

Colin deserves so much more than he gets in the mainspring and imagination
of XTC. Andy may be a genius, but his heart was never as affected as it was
by Colin. They demonstrated a true duo of intensity. Without Colin, Andy
is a soul alone. And his music comes across that way, however much a genius
he is.

That is what I have to say. If Andy reads my words, he will be struck in
his heart. He will know that his own genius is not enough to really emote
his heart with any dimension and substance.

With love
Michelle Brown Reyes Smith

I'm a reader of Chalkhills from Buenos Aires, Argentina and recently
uploaded a second XTC cover (the first one, was a rehearsal video of Yacht
Dance that had a nice
response out there), this time an unplugged version of Ladybird.

Hope you like it, and if you do spread the word! (The Ladybeh-beh-beh-bird
is the word...!)

all the best

Herman

MP3 Swap Offer: Does anyone have the hidden tracks from Coat of Many
Cupboards on good quality MP3? If so, would they swap for a few MP3s off
some rare XTC masters I was given when I worked at EMI? I'm sure the mad mad
collectors have got them but I'm thinking tracks like 'Us being Us', 'Thngs
Fall to Bits', 'Wordrappaport - Mix Dub Stylee'. Let me know. Keen to do it
today via email.
