http://soundcloud.com/new-sounds-north-carolina/you-n-me-n-xtc The reference
to XTC is kind of tangential to the rest of the song, except maybe in that
Stamey's trying to capture some of the joy that hearing XTC on the radio
brings. (The song plods a little too much for my taste, but, at least he's
giving some props to the band.)

Thanks, brother Rob Hill, for the "Brit List" of five indispensable
XTC songs. I had to watch all five videos.

The critic was fulsome in praise of Colin, calling him Paul McCartney
to Andy's John Lennon. I think it's closer to the mark to dub Colin
the serene George Harrison to Andy's schizoid Lennon/McCartney.

What? Keep going and drive it into the ground? Okay, Terry is Ringo,
Barry is Pete Best, and Dave is all of the following: Eric Clapton, a
roomful of uncredited Indian musicians, Billy Preston, and George
Martin.

I've been improving on my home stereo system and finally I can play
and really listen to the vinyl I've been collecting. So consequently I
wanted to add to last years discussion in that the work that went into
re-releasing Skylarking on vinyl has made it stellar. I did get the
Dukes vinyl as well and not to dis those releases, but the Skylarking
pressing has lovely sound quality.

I would gladly update all my other xtc vinyl if the sound quality
would match this even somewhat. We all have our favorites (mine is
English Settlement). The thought of having similar releases of more
xtc would be greatly welcomed. BTW, these recent releases did sell out
(so not to worry of marketability).
