A Doodee Music Master Recording

"If it's a DOODEE, you know it's the SHITR"

UK fun from XTC. This is from a short US radio promotional tour the
band did for the excellent "Oranges and Lemons" LP in the spring of
1989. Some great music and some great dry wit in the interviews. This
one is unique to the others I've seen from this tour in that it
contains a song that can't be found anywhere else. Seems "People"
magazine was in town doing a story on the band. XTC improvised "The
Great Non-Song" for the magazine to take live shots of the band for
the article and it ended up on the FM broadcast. This is the only
place you'll find this one. As for the date, I'm not totally certain
but know for sure it was recorded on a Thursday as it's stated in the
show. I could only find an exact date listed for Boston on this tour
and deduced it was logical that the Charlotte stop would be either the
Thursday before or after, hence the two possible dates listed. If
anyone has a concrete date for this show please let me know. Y'all
enjoy.

Andy: "This was the final straw. I was really proud of this
track we put a lot of time and thought into the whole thing, including
the video, and Virgin just pulled it."

I'd never seen this quote before -- does anyone know any of the details of
the video? Concept, production, anything?

Hilly ones,

Amazon in the UK and the US are listing the two Dukes reissues as being
available from March 24, not with extra tracks, but as straightforward
limited editions from APE. Both have slightly altered artwork, with the band
credited as 'XTC as the Dukes of Stratosphear'.
