The cub has the pen-and-ink chops of his comics-obsessed sire. Here's the link again. It's well worth a view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw-delgGVmw Yes, I loved seeing "Rock Band: XTC," and I hit >pause< to enjoy the caricatures of Andy, Colin, and Dave, but my fall-off-the-chair moment came seconds before, when the announcer (Harry himself?) spoke the magic words: "Rock Band: Klaatu." Young Harry knows his pop trivia -- thanks to Pop, no doubt. He must have grown up in a School of Rock more arduous than Jack Black's. Ryan Anthony An independent Internet content provider

XTC is my favourite band all time. I collect mildly. I am too busy, really I am, to do alot of reading on the internet but I like these e-mails i get from time to time. Could someone give an update of Andy, Colin, and XTC in general. Is XTC done for sure forever? What are Andy and Colin doing? Thanks.

Message-ID: <822416.58034.qm@web26106.mail.ukl.yahoo.com> to simon ("homefrontradio") your recent post about "beatles rock band" (the game) was typically interesting and informative. you raised some salient points and voiced some valid opinions. but also typically, you whinged and moaned. as you always seem to have. you're a well-balanced person - that is, you have a giant chip on EACH shoulder. that's one reason why you and i ceased to be friends. i won't say in a public forum like this, what some of the other reasons are, or describe some of the thoroughly nasty things you did to me. in your post, you suggested that others might join you on X-box to play the said game. good luck, but i strongly doubt you'd have many takers. most clear-thinking people tend to avoid maladroits who constantly complain. and, you aspiring to be like mccartney is a preposterous notion. whatever else, at least he has a modicum of talent. on a happier note folks, my fabs mono box set (strictly limited edition) has arrived. i'm about to high-tail it to the shop to pick it up. i won't be ranting or whingeing, but it will be interesting, after so many years, to hear the sometimes superior mono mixes, and to re-learn that sometimes ringo hasn't got blisters on his fingers. loved the stereo box, sensational remastered sound and presentation. there, not a word of complaint or any nit-picking. unlike some, i'm quite a happy chappy, thank you. gratutious but spurious XTC content: was watching "the prisoner" t'other day (patrick mcgoohan, not vinegar-tits). was a thrill to see portmerion in wales - would love to visit there someday. that's the location where XTC filmed promos for "the meeting place" and "the man who sailed around his soul". recommend you seek out "the prisoner" on DVD or something. it ends with patrick mcgoohan emerging from his incarceration to the sounds of "all you need is love". which is where we came in... ~~p@ul

To ease the wait, I humble daisily offer my own orangey lemon. Ever since I was lucky enough to attend Ray Davies' songwriting course Chalkhills regular (and friend of XTC) Mitch Friedman, I've been trying to learn and re-learn the lessons from that amazing week. My latest effort is a pop rock CD called Goofyfoot, which I hereby shamelessly promote: This link will take you to the album on iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/yfctr97 For a CD or sound samples: http://cdbaby.com/cd/JimSmart1 aloha, Jim
------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Nov 2009 14:32:24 -0500 From: John Relph <John.Relph@alumni.usc.edu> Subject: Stewart / Gaskin 'Roads Girdle The Globe' cover Message-ID: <19189.52040.660752.721397@seedbed.idiot-dog.com> Folks, Dave Stewart let me know that he and Barbara Gaskin just released a new CD called "The TLG Collection: Archive recordings 1983-2001" which contains a remix of their version of XTC's 'Roads Girdle The Globe' (and he thinks that Chalkhills is a "great site BTW!"). Musical contributors include Andy Reynolds and Jakko Jakszyk on guitars, Gavin Harrison on drums and Annie Whitehead on trombone. The CD has 14 tracks: Transylvanian Blue Suede Hooves (Subterranean Homesick Blues extended mix) (B. Dylan arr. D. Stewart) René and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War (P. Simon) Shakin' All Over (2001 Rough mix) (J. Kidd) Give Me Just A Little More Time (R. Dunbar / E. Wain) McGroggan (1995 Remix) (D. Stewart) When The Warcry Comes (D. Stewart) Fear Is The Thief (D. Stewart) Hold On To The Chain (D. Stewart) Roads Girdle The Globe (1991 Remix) (A. Partridge) Henry & James (1996 Remake) (D. Stewart) The Curve Of The Earth (D. Stewart) Painter Man (E. Phillips / K. Pickett) Your Majesty Is Like A Cream Donut (quiet) (D. Stewart) Ads Infinitum (D. Stewart) Buy it at http://www.burningshed.com/store/davebarb/multiproduct/326/1423 I really like Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin's cover of Billy Bragg's classic "Levi Stubbs' Tears" and their entire "Selected Tracks" compilation is pretty cool. I first heard of Dave Stewart because he played on Bill Bruford's solo albums. And now back to your irregularly scheduled Chalkhills. -- John
