Thanks, Steve Morris

Thanks for the posting on this - but I would warn people to read reviews (if
you can find any) about this title before you buy.

Warner Archives has had a lot of problems with their product, and it's
pressed on a DVD-R, not a real DVD and they have major compression problems
sometimes.

Are some of us planning to buy one or more remastered Beatles albums
when they hit the street on 090909?

Word on the wire has it the improvement is stunning -- you can hear
Ringo's fag ash hitting the studio floor! you can hear Yoko's body
hair growing! -- but I want to read some reviews first, and I'd rather
get the good word from Chalkfolk than from anyone else. So, if your
first spin on Sept. 9 transports you to Abbey Road Studios and plants
you onto an engineer's stool at the left hand of George Martin, please
talk about it here.

If Andy himself writes such a review in the *Swindon Chipwrapper*,
would someone post the link?

"Australian filmmaker John Safran is so fed up with mormons ringing his
doorbell early in the morning that he flies to Salt Lake City Utah and
tries to convert Mormons to atheism. Needless to say, the locals were
not pleased."

at 4:10 into the video: "May I offer you a reading from 1980's concept
band XTC?" and there's a brief shot of Andy and Colin.

I am making copies of the XTC weed CDs for a friend, and no longer
have some of the artwork. Does anyone know where I might find artwork
for XTCW02, XTCW04, and XTCW06? I thought it was on the weeds
webpages, but couldn't locate any.

thanks

Tyler pointed out that:

"I just found this online:
http://www.avclub.com/articles/warner-archives-releases-urgh-bad-ronald-mikes-mur,31885/

Warner Archives, the dvd on demand service that reissues old movies,
will be releasing Urgh! A Music War. Don't know the date, but
hopefully soon."

The official DVD-R release of URGH! came out several weeks ago. I ordered a
copy at the beginning of August and received it about two weeks later (I
assume they are pressing copies as they are ordered).

If you are hoping for a spruced up version of the movie, you might want to
take a pass. The copy they are selling is from one of the better prints,
but it is not remastered in anyway. There are no bonuses, and the sceen
selection doesn't take you from band to band, but automatically drops you in
10 minute intervals. It also claims to be letterboxed, but it didn't appear
that way on my screen. The sound quality is decent, and the picture looks a
lot better than my ancient VHS copy.

But if you want a copy, you should probably order it soon. Apparently they
didn't notify any of the artists about this, so it will only be a matter of
time until a few lawyers contact Warner and this movie falls out of print
again. There was an interesting interview with Jim Skafish about this at
the URGH Yahoo site:
