A few years back, Joni Mitchell highlighted the New Radicals and their "You Get What You Give" as one of the few more recent bands she enjoyed. The song was also included on the mix CD Mitchell put together for Starbucks. To my ears, the song has vibes similar to those of Karl Wallinger's World Party, definitely in sound if not in lyrical content. Also, let me thank all you Chalkhillers who post web links on the list to XTC content, especially any kind of video material. For us fans further out of the loop, it's just about the only way to access such treasures. Finally, let me close my all-time favorite Chalkhills quip, courtesy of John Morrish, I believe: "XTC content, as opposed to XTC packaging? That would be nice." Regards, Pablo PS: Despite of the above-mentioned quote, I just bought a used copy of a remastered edition of Skylarking (Virgin, UK, 2001, CDVX2399), which puts "Dear God" at the end. Haven't had a chance yet to listen to it alongside the 1986 U.S. copy of the disc. Is it a noticeable improvement?

Would anyone happen to know if this is the same young Lily Fraser who did the spoken words on the Dukes records? I've only heard her speak before, but the voice did sound somewhat like her..... Tis all for now, Amanda C. Owens XTC song of the day-It's Nearly Africa non XTC song of the day-Goodbye My Lover-James Blunt (yeah, I think he's smashing...so sue me!) RIP ANDREAS KATSULAS 1946-2006 A toast...to absent friends, in memory still bright. May you be in Heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you're gone. S'agapo, Andreas. I hope you, Rick, Tim, and Greg are watching over us from the big station in the sky.

Message-ID: <06c6d4e9cdcbfea92501e14298c452dc@mindspring.com> Hi, I would like to alert each and every one of you to the link below. It leads to the music video of Andy Partridge's long time girlfriend Erica Wexler's scathingly amusing song "I'm So Sick of Models!" Andy produced and arranged the original demo version of the song, and you can still hear some of his touches on this final version as the demo version was passed off to a remixer who added some dance inducing snares to the mix. http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2707514 Andy and Erica asked me to help spread the word, so please pass this around to anyone else who you think would enjoy it. In the near future Erica will be releasing an album of original songs, and this video could help to drum up a nice little buzz about her. Thanks, Mitch

The Nines mail list has just sent out that the new Nines album that apparently is out in Spring of this year will indeed feature support from Jason Falkner and Andy Partridge (who did a co-write). Also an unreleased song from Polygram records called Jack McGee is on the Nines new myspace page which is pretty cool...thought I would pass on to any Nines fans the link is: www.myspace.com/ninespop cheers David

Andy's on the list (why no Colin? I dunno...I e-mailed them but haven't heard back) of nominees. All XTC fans should go to http://www.pastemagazine.com and vote for Andy to insure his place on the list in the June/July issue of PASTE. Cheers, David Emprimo Jacksonville, TX

Really enjoyed that. Harrison took us right into the vortex of what that song is all about, and into the bargain captured the essence of the singular joy that was the XTC live experience. However: "it's Dave switching to power chords on his Strat that fills out the sound; nothing like a nice fist C played on the fat strings to make a joyful noise." ...hmmm. These days I tend to eschew a nice fist C, preferring instead to tickle my nether regions with the Apple Box peacock feather. I'll grab me coat. If it isn't the guys really should consider it for those of us who already have the four discs of Apple Box and would just like to purchase individual songs for their ipods. Wayne
