I may have asked this question before, but does anybody have any idea
what the background vocals are in the second chorus of "The Loving"
starting at about two minutes into the song?

John-

If I understand what you're talking about... I think
the lyrics in the background are "straight to ya".

The loving's coming Straight to ya

Subject: The great XTC video spotlight

As I mentioned in an earlier note, the Canadian video channel MuchMusic
recently did a half-hour spotlight on XTC. The "spotlight" consisted of
seven (count 'em) videos interspersed with three very brief interview clips.
The show went like this:

	Making Plans for Nigel
	Life Begins at the Hop
	Senses Working Overtime
	All You Pretty Girls
	Grass
	Dear God
	Mayor of Simpleton

The first two were of pretty poor quality, video-wise (as opposed to
audio-wise), but that's about what you'd expect for something shot in
1979. "Senses" was better, but was simply a performance video (featuring
a short-haired Dave Gregory!). "Pretty Girls" and all the subsequent ones
in the list were very professional and fun to watch.

The interview clips were, of course, far too short. When are they
going to realize that Andy is almost as funny as Spike Milligan?

Now here's a question: Apart from the ones listed above, what other videos
have XTC done? (Perhaps this info ought be added to the discography.)

Mike.

Subject: XTC videos

Here's a list of all the XTC videos I can think of. I am in the
middle of moving and my catalogs are packed away deep in some box
somewhere, so I can't check to see if there are any others I have
forgotten.

"Promotional" Videos
  This is Pop?
  Statue of Liberty
  Are You Receiving Me?
  Life Begins at the Hop
  Making Plans for Nigel
  Towers of London
  Respectable Street
  Generals and Majors
All of a Sudden (It's Too Late)
  Ball and Chain
  Senses Working Overtime
  Wonderland (unreleased)
Love On a Farmboy's Wages (unreleased)
  Human Alchemy (unreleased)
In Loving Memory of a Name (unreleased)
  Funk Pop a Roll (unreleased)
  All You Pretty Girls
The Dukes of Stratosphear: Mole From the Ministry (unreleased?)
  Grass
  Dear God
  Mayor of Simpleton (multiple versions)

Others
  XTC at the Manor
Documentary of the recording of Black Sea at The Manor.
  XTC Play at Home
Self-produced video documenting XTC in their native town of Swindon,
including unreleased videos from the Mummer album, and a live
acoustic version of ``Train Running Low on Soul Coal''. (unreleased?)
  The History of XTC
      Self-produced (?) puppet-show history of XTC starring a potato
as Andy. I may have the title wrong. And it's hilarious.

If you know of others, let us know.
