Relph <relph@presto.ig.com> Subject: XTC on KFJC-FM Yes, as I was driving to work today, the DJ on KFJC 89.7 FM, Los Altos Hills, CA, declared that it was time for A Fit of Ecstasy, otherwise known as XTC. It seems that during each of his shows, he will play at least one XTC song, in a fit of XTC. Today's song was "All You Pretty Girls". So remember to listen to KFJC, Monday mornings during commute hours, maybe you'll catch this guy's show. -- John

Just heard the live performance of XTC on WBCN in Boston. That
was *great*!! For the record, Andy says that his favorite XTC music
consists of bits of English Settlement, Big Express, and Oranges and Lemons.
About a half of the music they played was from O & L, and half from before
that. Actually, they only played a portion of "Senses Working Overtime"
and nothing else previous to Mummer. They played a bit off Mummer, nothing
off of Big Express, a greater amount off of Skylarking, and a handful off
of O & L. In response to being asked about their US "radio" tour being
a precursor to their performing live again, Andy's response was the they
were just "dipping their toes in the water." Maybe there's a chance
afterall...
For those in Boston (assuming this letter gets posted in time, which is
unlikely), a similar session will occur at 6:00pm today (5/15) on WFNX
(101.7 FM).

So now XTC is appearing 'live' at various radio stations. That's great.
Tell me, why don't they do like Oingo Boingo? OB recently released a
double 'live' album, that is, the music was recorded all at once with a
minimum amount of mixing/editing. I think that'd be a GREAT solution for
both the fans and Andy's 'problem'. Oh well, hopefully we'll get a good
tape from their US Radio tour.

Well, XTC performed a brief acoustic set just a couple of hours
ago, at WBCN in Boston. The entire thing, including some conversation
between the DJ and the band, and also a few old XTC tracks (maybe 3 or 4),
lasted from 12 to 1. Songs that were performed :
Scarecrow People
Senses Working Overtime
Love On A Farmboy's Wages
King For A Day
Mayor Of Simpleton
Great Fire
Dear God
Big Day
It was not a bad set, and Andy Partridge was his usual lovable self.
