Hi folks!
I read in a Melody Maker article with Carter the Unstoppable Sex
Machine... bahahaha... that they didn't mess with fancy percussion
equipment since they read that XTC got their sound on black sea
by bangin on a fire hydrant!
---
Yeah, I too got the latest Little Express, complete with John Relph
letter talking all about Chalkhills, so hopefully all those netters
out there will subscribe or have. What a great fanzine... but
that info about the delay in the new album is distressing...
---
Do any of you have any idea how much paper it takes to print out
every Chalkhills ever? <slapping forehead!>

It's mid-july everyone, a great time to be paganistic and pastoral!

Oh yeah... what was the name of the guy some issues ago who was writing
a book on XTC and wanted chalkhillians to write to him? Was it
Paul Wilde again?

  What's a "navvie"?

  Paper and Iron, Unicorn and Lion.  I might peg the lion as Britain;
  any help with the rest?

P.S. How about we take up a collection, and send some worthy
Chalkhillian to England to get this album produced? :-)
       I'll volunteer.

Subject: rag and bones

i did it... i tracked down a copy of rag and bone buffet today.
and i recommend it to all. except for the "three wise men"
and "cockpit dance mixture" tracks this is a great disc.

and yes, i agree that "mermaid" belongs on skylarking more
than "dear god," but so it goes...

what i found interesting is the number of b-sides from
english settlement tracks. does waxworks cover the earlier
albums better, or are there no singles from white music on?

tom.

Subject: Dear God + Homo Safari UK CD EP

I never remember seeing it in vinyl form, but I found a CD EP (from
the UK) with "Dear God" and the entire "Homo Safari" series on it at
Tower Records in Boston. At US$8, this is a pretty good deal (half an
hour of music) for the US collector.

"Mermaid Smiled" was on the original UK _Skylarking_ CD. Was the UK
CD later re-released without it?
