You can hear a good deal of his possibilities on _Live, Love, Larf, and Loaf_ with Fred Frith, Henry Kaiser, and Richard Thompson. Actually, the guy from John Cougar's band (Kenny Aaronson) sounds a lot of Terry Chambers in thwack mode... And although it might not be a perfect fit, Keith LeBlanc of Tackhead, who has an impressive range, and is at home with anything from jazzy sophistication to monstrous, driving machinoid funk. XTC would be an interesting median in his list of colloborators, which include James Brown, REM, and Ministry. (Not to imply that that XTC is a linear combination of those guys !)

(Must have been confused with Thomas Dolby, who does pop up on _Black Snake Diamond Role_ and _Invisible Hitchock_.) Colin Moulding does not appear on _Knights Like This_ by Peter Blegvad, although he is on the (short) ``Thanks To'' list.

I've never heard it. This was just about the same time as Barry Andrews' two (or more) solo singles. One has Fripp on it. I haven't heard them, don't know what they're like. Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen b/w I Need Protection is a great single. Stupid silly I-IV-V song with stupid silly backing vocals. Great. I heard Barry Andrew's singles once a while ago, they're pretty good. But then again, I like his songs on Go 2, unlike most people here.

I've heard this rumor several times, (and appropriately repropogated it
myself); that the Residents are a floating collective of performers
which has included AP. Anyone who likes Take Away should certainly
venture at least as far as the Residents' Commercial Album (if not
Fingerprince, Third Reich and Roll, and the Mark of the Mole).
I've long enjoyed Take Away; I made up a tape (for the car) in which
I tried to segue the Drums & Wires cuts with some of their remodeled
equivalents on Take Away. My favorite (of course) is the trumpet
solo which picks up without missing a beat while everything else
goes dub crazy.
Actually I just remembered that I put the Commercial Album on the other side
of that tape. Deja Voodoo!

It's Virgin (UK), looks like the same label as the old Go 2 (green & red). Catalog # is VS 23312. Plain black cover with "XTC Go +" on the front, track listing & copyright on the back, nothing else. I bought it at Tower about 2 years ago (5.98 list price). Someone else was asking about recording dates for "Take Away". On the back cover it says: "Put and take by John Leckie and Andy Partridge 10.10.79" Stewart

I've never heard it. That's "The Colonel". Terry Chambers drums on this single, too. "Too Many Cooks" is an unusually silly song for Colin, with a bouncy syncopated rhythm. He doesn't impress me any more or less than a million other drummers out there. What's the big deal? Personally, I think Peter Phipps' acoustic bashing and Andy's Linn were the perfect matchup on "The Big Express" (which is undoubtedly my favorite XTC record). The Turntable in Schaumburg, Illinois, sells an excellent quality version
of it for $30 (last time I checked, this was much cheaper than an arm and
a leg :-) . If I can find their phone number, I'll send it, or you can
call 312-555-1212 and ask for their number.
The video is called "Studio Songs 1-11", and has an excellent video quality
and great hi-fi stereo sound. Highly recommended viewing for everyone on
this mailing list.

I think the guy was in Arizona....
