I just wanted to share this moment from Saturday night...

There was a Guided by Voices-associated soiree this weekend, in Dayton,

We all know that the members of the Zappa '88 band were XTC fans, and
so were the member of Jellyfish ofcourse. But that bassplayer Norwood
Fisher of crossover heroes Fishbone (one of my personal faves) listens
to XTC (also one of my faves, ofcourse) to strengthen his songwriting
would never have crossed my mind. It's in this (funny and cool)

New Skylarking as a Digital Download?

Anyone know if Andy has plans to release the new Skylarking as a digital
download?  Yes, I know the "vinyl purity" is kind of what makes the mustard
on that kind of thing, but 1) it's out of stock anyway and 2) I haven't
owned a turntable since Ronald Reagan.
Would love to have the new mixes so I can hear what all the fuss is about.

is available at Bandcamp for $5.  (The lead singer/songwriter of

The day after my recommendation of the Sound Opinions music podcast,
in which I said I bought CDs by Trombone Shorty and Le Butcherettes
based on the hosts' rave reviews, T. Shorty's album, *For True*, is
Amazon's (U.S.) download special of the day, priced at US$3.99.
